Frequently asked questions
Are you Gas Safe registered and NICEIC approved?
Yes. ATD is Gas Safe registered for relevant gas work and NICEIC approved for electrical work. Where certification is required for the completed work, we will explain what is provided.
Which areas do you cover?
We serve Maidenhead and nearby areas including Windsor, Slough, Reading, Bracknell, Marlow, Bourne End, Wokingham, Henley and High Wycombe. Contact us with your postcode so we can confirm coverage and availability.
How quickly can an engineer attend?
Appointment times depend on location, engineer availability and the type of fault. We will offer the next suitable appointment and confirm the time window before you book rather than promise a time we cannot guarantee.
Is there a call-out or diagnostic charge?
Any attendance or diagnostic charge is confirmed before the appointment. If additional repair work or parts are needed, we explain the findings and agree the price or provide a separate quotation before proceeding.
Should I repair or replace my boiler?
That depends on the fault, boiler age, condition, parts availability and likely ongoing running costs. We diagnose the problem first, explain the practical options and provide a separate replacement quotation if replacement is the sensible route.
What is included in a boiler service?
A service includes safety and operating checks appropriate to the appliance, including the boiler, controls, flue and relevant safety functions. The engineer will explain any issues found and any recommended follow-on work.
Can you provide electrical reports and certificates?
Yes, for relevant work. We can help with EICRs, fault finding, consumer-unit work and installation certification. We confirm the exact inspection scope and whether remedial work is included before booking.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Do not use electrical switches or naked flames. Open doors and windows if it is safe, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. For immediate danger, call 999.
Do you provide written quotations?
Yes. For quoted work we set out the agreed scope and price so you can decide whether to proceed. If the scope changes after inspection, we discuss the change with you first.
